Dr An Janssen
Dr Janssen attended the Catholic University of Leuven in her home country of Belgium before coming to the UK in 1999. She then continued her training at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital and the Musgrove Hospital in Taunton as part of the General Practice Vocational Training scheme.
After completing her General practice training Dr Janssen worked abroad for several years. This included working as a as a medical officer of the Royal Flying Doctor Service in Australia, a medic on a Raleigh International expedition to Chile, a medical officer on a ski field in New Zealand and a volunteer for the Himalayan Rescue Association in Nepal.
In 2006 Dr Janssen returned to UK and took up her current position as a GP in a busy NHS practice in Mid Devon. She enjoys the combination of working as a GP in both the NHS and the Private sector and has as special interest in women’s health, including the menopause and contraception.
Dr Janssen appreciates the value of personalized care through face to face consultations with sufficient time to discuss your health problem(s) and perform a clinical examination.
Personal interests
Walking, being outdoors, skiing, mountaineering and spending time with her husband and children.
About Us
Dr Helen Catterick
Dr Catterick grew up in Devon before attending the University of Leicester and achieving her medical degree in 2001. She worked in various hospitals around the East midlands and began her GP training on the Kettering vocational training scheme before returning to Exeter in 2006 to complete her General Practice training.
Over the past 15 years Dr Catterick has worked in NHS practices in Exeter and East Devon alongside work at the East Devon Stroke Unit and Devon Doctors out of hours service. She took up her current NHS GP post in mid Devon in 2019.
Dr Catterick has an interest in medical education and works as a tutor at the University of Exeter Medical School.
She has lots of experience in all areas of general practice but a particular interest in elderly care, women’s health and mental health. Dr Catterick enjoys the variety of work of general practice and values giving her patients the time that they need.
